Experience some of the wonders of Dominica’s marine environment the safe and easy way - Snorkeling & Scuba Diving!!
As I mentioned in a previous article, Dominica is not known for its beaches. Dominica's beaches are made up of dark gray or jet black volcanic sands. The shores are somewhat rocky, and not suited to barefoot strolls; however, if you are an avid snorkel fan, then you will definitely want to visit Champagne!!
Champagne, which is aptly named because of the bubbles which rise from below the area, is Dominica's premier snorkeling site. It is shrouded by palm trees, and is full of sunshine and a great spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. The peace and quiet found at this location is just what many persons are looking for; yet, one is still in close proximity to the city and its amenities. Champagne is located 1.8 miles from Soufriere Sulphur Springs, on the southern coast of Dominica. Champagne is close to Pointe Michel, so walking the town is a definite option.

CHOOSING THE PERFECT CRUISE SHIP FOR YOU!
The amenities offered by most cruise ships are similar in nature, and as such choosing the right cruise ship for your vacation is extremely important. Cruise line websites provides you with a wealth of information about their ships, the type of activities that can be found aboard, as well as, and probably most importantly, the cruise itinerary.
Before you make that final decision, find out the answers the following questions; or further more, ask your travel agent.

Cruising Dominica!!
Dominica is an increasingly popular cruise ship destination, with unspoiled scenic terrain and eco-adventures to offer visitors. It is slowly becoming a regular port of call for many major cruise lines. The island has three berths that accommodate cruise ships: the Bayfront in Roseau, the capital; Deep Water Harbour, Woodbridge Bay - just 5 minutes north of Roseau; and The Cabrits in Portsmouth - about an hour's drive north of Roseau. Presently, the island is experiencing an economic boost because of the increase in cruise tourism.
